The journey to kitesurfing paradise

Boracay is about an hour flight from Manila, the capital of the Philippines, and can be reached from two airports, Caticlan and Kalibo. Most people prefer to fly to Caticlan, as it is right by the ferry terminal to Boracay island and with an only 10 minute ferry ride, makes it the most convenient option. Kalibo airport is roughly an hour and a half minibus/taxi ride away, which is not ideal but nevertheless the more economical option. Flights to Caticlan are more expensive now than a few years ago, as tourism has significantly increased to the island and prices can be as much as double or triple.

KTA – Kiteboard Tour Asia

As The Kiteboarding Outlet is based in Asia, we are bringing you a blog post about the Kiteboard Tour Asia (KTA) and the work it has done since its inception in 2009.

In 2009, the KTA was setup to provide a professional level competition to riders in Asia with the aim of giving the opportunity to experience an international competition and a stepping stone to compete in the world tour.

Kiteboard Tour Asia

All events are open to riders of all levels, whether amateur or professional, and is the only Asian tour officially recognised by the International Kiteboarding Association.
