The island of Boracay in the Philippines is the best spot in Asia to go kitesurfing with its clear, waist deep waters and consistent winds during the windy season.
The journey to kitesurfing paradise
Boracay is about an hour flight from Manila, the capital of the Philippines, and can be reached from two airports, Caticlan and Kalibo. Most people prefer to fly to Caticlan, as it is right by the ferry terminal to Boracay island and with an only 10 minute ferry ride, makes it the most convenient option. Kalibo airport is roughly an hour and a half minibus/taxi ride away, which is not ideal but nevertheless the more economical option. Flights to Caticlan are more expensive now than a few years ago, as tourism has significantly increased to the island and prices can be as much as double or triple.
