Leroy breaks Hawaiian kiteboarding speed record

Damien Leroy sets new Hawaiian Kiteboarding Speed record

Last week Damien Leroy broke the Hawaiian kiteboarding speed record at Shipwrecks beach, Maui. He was joined on his venture with Alex Aguera and his sister Kalia Aguera.

The previous record stood at 42.1 knots held by Pieter Biehl and this was broken first by Alex Aguera by a single knot at 43.54 knots. Alex was using an Ozone Edge and a custom board as well as having to face the less than ideal choppy waters. Shortly after, Damien broke that mark with a speed of 44.33 knots using a custom speed board and a Cabrinha Switchblade.
